What is the baby’s name?          

Emmett Roy Evans

Who picked out the baby’s name?          

Mom picked out the first name, both of us picked out the middle name.

How &/or why did you decide on your baby’s name?    

We loved the idea of having an E first name to match with Evans. For his middle name both of our grandfathers have it as a first name, and our fathers have it as a middle name.

Was the pregnancy planned or a surprise?         

Pregnancy was a surprise!

How did you share the news with the daddy?   

I called him on the phone, and told him to come home.

How did you share the news with extended family and friends that you were expecting?            

The Wellhousen family we got the book “Are you my mother” and had the ultrasound picture in the book.

For the Evans family we traveled up to Ohio, and told them before dinner.

For the Heath family we told everyone at prayer with dinner.

Did you have a gender reveal? If so, briefly tell me about it.       

Yes, we had a gender reveal for just Heath and I. We had a mini cake made for us to cut open together.

We also did a gender reveal for the Wellhousen family. It ended up being green icing when I attempted blue.

List 3 fun facts about your pregnancy.   

I started liking cold foods (ice in my water, ice cream, etc.)

I crave healthy foods like crazy (Daddy lost 15 pounds in the first trimester)

It’s been very inspiring for our family having a new baby to support. It’s given dad the extra push to start his own company.

What are you most nervous about for the baby’s arrival?  

A couple things:

Covid restricting family support at our birth center.

The major lifestyle change that comes with having a baby to support. It will be a while before we bring him out into the public due to Covid.

What are you most excited about for the baby’s arrival?             

Just getting to meet him. Selfishly, knowing what genes between my husband and I look like. We’re excited to see ourselves grow together as parents.
