AGP Sen19r Mod Squad members Amaya and Morgan joined me for spring senior mini sessions.  We found found some sparse flowers in a random field near a neighborhood Walmart and had fun with it! We had to break a few time for a few April showers and wrapped up just in time before the complete downpour.

Q&As with Amaya and Morgan: Since it was the last minis before graduation, I decided it would be a good time for questions reflecting on their senior year

What you have learned about yourself during senior year?

Amaya – The most important thing I learned about myself my senior year is that when I challenge myself and I put my mind to it I am capable of anything. I am beyond proud of testing my abilities this year with college classes and trying new things I wouldn’t normally try. Along with challenging myself, I’m proud of being able to adjust to a new school my senior year. Nothing about starting over the last year was easy but it helped shape me into who I am as a person and student.

Morgan – I have learned to be more independent.

What you have learned about life during senior year?

Amaya – The most important thing I learned about life, is it’s too short. There’s wayyy too much good in life to focus on the bad. Staying focused on the good things will make life undoubtedly better.

Morgan – Life really is tough and goes by fast.

What’s your biggest take away from school?

Amaya –
My biggest take away from school is to always stay true to who I am no matter the circumstances. No matter what has happened throughout high school or the obstacles I went through I never lost who I am as a person and that’s very important. Without that I wouldn’t be where I am in my life today as a graduating senior heading to the big, scary, and overwhelming world I feel well prepared and I can’t wait to take on this new chapter in my life.

Morgan
– The amount of help you get!! I’m gonna miss that.

How much have you changed since junior year / the beginning of senior year?
Amaya –
I have changed A LOT from my junior to senior year. Not necessarily by looks or physically but mentally. I changed my perspective on life and how important some of the little things are and I learned to love myself and not compare myself to others. Academically I completely changed. I strived for great grades, ACT scores, and scholarships. By doing so I succeeded!!!

Morgan –
um sometimes I accidentally tell people I’m still a junior…so I guess I haven’t changed at all hahah

What’s your favorite senior memory?

Amaya –
My favorite senior memory is my senior retreat with my class. We went to the ropes course at MGCCC and tested our team building skills. It was well spent with many laughs and my good friends by my side. It was a great experience that ended in mass where I received letters from the people that love and care about me. Realizing these are some of the last moments of high school and reading letters from my parents and teachers made me really appreciate how far I’ve come.

Morgan –
The first football game😻

What advice or words of wisdom can you share with the upcoming senior class of 2020?

Amaya –
If I could tell the class of 2020 anything it would be to really focus on yourself and the people who love you most. Don’t ever loose sight in where you’re going and don’t ever base your decisions on friends ect. Don’t give up, keep striving no matter how much you want to just leave or be done! Cherish the moments and don’t worry about silly, crazy high school drama. Ever. Most importantly PLEASE have fun and have a good heart. I never wanted to believe what people would say— “you’ll miss this” “it flies by” “these are the best times of your life” and so on but they are so right.. gosh they are so right. You’re about to be the seniors that everyone looks up to, so give them a good example!! Good luck! <33

Morgan –
DO NOT BLINK!! IT GOES BY FAST!! CHERISH EVERY MOMENT!!
